I became interested in writing when I was serving in Viet Nam and dabbled periodically over the years. Now that I am semi-retired and have the time, I have rediscovered how satisfying it is to struggle through the creative process and end up with a piece I actually like. Welcome to my website. I hope you enjoy your reading.

Hi Marv,
Marita posted one of your poems on Facebook so I had to follow the link. I wanted to let you know that your poems have touched me. “Beauty” and “If I Could Tell You …Notes to Myself as a Young Man” especially hit home for me.
It has been over 30 years since I have seen you. I know this because Marita’s and my high school reunion coming up marks the passage of time. I loved spending time at your house with Marita when I was in Jr. High and High school. I remember I used to call you Dad. Anyway, thank you for sharing your thoughts through your poetry and I am looking forward to reading more.
Best wishes, Sheryl
Wow! What a treat to hear from you. I remember those times as well. When you and Sis were hanging out I think there was more laughter, giggling and gaiety in the house than any other time I can recall. I am sure you remember Larry Leidtke. He and I go sailing every year now up in the San Juans and gulf islands off Vancouver Island. We just got back last week. We often reminisce about those days. It was a good time.
Thanks for your kind comments about the pieces on the web site.
It was a super treat to hear from you.

Of course I remember Larry. I was thinking about him the other day and all the fun sailing adventures. That trip to the San Juan’s sounds wonderful. I did that about 20 years ago with some friends. What a great experience that you get to do every year! Say “Hi” to Larry for me. I’m so glad you are doing well.
